3 PROFOUND WAYS TO STAY DISCIPLINE AND ON TOP OF YOUR GAME.
whew! so.. it’s been about 4 weeks since I wrote here. well, here is a glimpse of what I’ve been up.
The 3 profound ways to stay disciplined and committed to whatever you put your mind to (and in my case a fit healthy lifestyle):
- Exercise everyday.
when I say exercise every day, this includes home workouts, dancing, pilâtes, every other physical form of exercise and reading a book.
activities that exercise your brain and body. prepping you for the day and keeping you agile.
with exercising every gradual step matters. so don’t be harsh on your body, you can start small (30mins 4–5times a week) and watch your body glow from the inside — OUT.
2. Meditate.
what ever this may mean to you please do it. back in school, during my senior year at the AUN, I was struggling with depression, anxiety, emotional stress, and strain. I would grab my pack of cigarettes, a spliff, and syrup then head to the most quiet and reserved corners of the school. Spread my yoga mat/piece of cloth, be in position — as high as a kite with my eyes closed and meditate. It was and still is one of my best things to do in this adulthood of mine.
meditating helped me a lot! helped me to recap on my day, my environment, the world around me, my past and my present.
During this period I’d envision myself in a trance, time travelling into my past, digging deep into situations that led me into depression, things, and people who influenced me, triggered me, or caused my scars. Not caring how dark and exposed I was, I did this to help find myself, and to find the solutions to the problems I had.
And guess what, it worked. Gradually… it worked.
I’d say that meditating enables you unlock some mental blockages that your brain is too weak to hand sometimes. Let’s not neglect the fact that it also helps heighten your spirituality.
So guys, please incorporate meditating into your schedule. You would LOVE IT! Plus — meditating with a binaural sound playing in your ears / the background whew… orgasmic.
3. Eat clean, sleep tight.
this is one awesome habit I wished I incorporated in the earlier stages of my life. But I’m here to say it is never too late to prioritize your meals, eat the right things and on time. Eating late defeats the entire idea of keeping fit.
So, please, workout that bod like I mentioned earlier and SLEEP — guyyyys, SLEEP! Your body needs it, it deserves to rest, after the days activities — a proper rest is well deserving so your brain doesn’t shut down by itself or scramble lmao.
I remember the last time I deprived myself of sleep, I almost ran over a hawkers goods on the streets. Thank God for God I woke up right before I pulled a Tokyo drift, saving both our asses and the car.
I do hope this piece is helpful to you one way or the other. P.s inner me is still quite shy to write, reasons why there’s such a gap in my delivery. But here I am again, practicing all that I’ve learned so far and sharing them with you.
